REHEARSAL DETAILS
What is dress rehearsal?
It’s our practice performance!
Dress rehearsal is required so that dancers and families know exactly what to do on show day. This also warms the dancers up to being on stage and eases nerves preparing them for a fun and successful performance. See all the important info below.
Location:
Del Valle Theater
1963 Tice Valley Blvd, Walnut Creek, CA
REHEARSAL ATTIRE
Dancers should wear what they plan to wear on show day — their full stage outfit in their assigned color with the required shoes.
See Costume Guide for details regarding outfit, shoes, hair and makeup!
This helps us see that all dancers have the correct colors and attire for their group and ensure everyone is ready for show day.
Dancers should arrive “stage ready” in exactly what they’ll be wearing on stage. There will be no changing or getting ready at the theater.
REHEARSAL CHECK IN
Upon arrival, please find your child’s group in the courtyard of the theater entrance and wait patiently to be checked in.
All children (except for teens) must be accompanied by an adult while waiting for check in. Teens may check themselves in.
Block A + C:
Once checked in, parents may leave and come back at pick up or wait in the theater lobby/courtyard. This is a closed rehearsal with no spectators (with the exception of Block B dancers).
Block B:
Block B dancers will be accompanied by 1 parent throughout the entire rehearsal from start to finish. Do not drop off. We will be discussing the details of show day.
REHEARSAL DISMISSAL
Dancers will be released into the theater lobby at the end of each rehearsal block.
Block A + C:
Teens may dismiss themselves. All other dancers must leave with a parent. Our teachers will stay with all dancers who are waiting to be picked up.
Block B:
Block B dancers will be with their parent the whole time and will be free to go at the end of their time block.
REHEARSAL + SHOW DAY REMINDERS
What (+ what not) to bring):
Dancers may not bring anything else with them backstage except for a LABELED water bottle. No food, bags, clothes, toys, etc. Only dancers in 2+ routines will be allowed to bring any additional costume(s) and shoes in a LABELED garment bag.
Dreamspace is not responsible for personal belongings. Any items left behind on rehearsal day or show day will be discarded.
Food:
No eating backstage or in the audience. Please plan accordingly. Water only.
Bathroom:
Please plan to have your dancer use the restroom before being checked in to prevent delays backstage.
Please Note!
The show day process is a bit different. See show day information here.
